There’s been hopeful information out of New York Metropolis and elsewhere relating to the coronavirus these days — a flattening curve, fewer deaths and new circumstances and such. However that’s not the case in lots of American states, the place the pandemic seems to not have reached its peak. Trevor Noah has observed this.
“It seems coronavirus is quite a bit like a Broadway musical,” Noah says in his monologue for The Every day Social Distancing Present tonight. “It begins out huge in New York, then a few months later, a a lot worse model pops up in Peoria.”
Comedy Central’s homebound host then turns the subject to — what else? — President Donald Trump. “This simply goes to point out that preventing coronavirus in America was not a unified strategy,” he says, suggesting that “now’s perhaps not the right time to open every little thing up.” He then cuts to a montage about companies reopening across the nation, adopted by video of Friday’s anti-lockdown protests.
Which brings us to the POTUS portion of our present.
“At the same time as America’s coronavirus dying toll has zoomed previous Trump’s predictions of what the dying toll would be, Trump hasn’t modified his thoughts.
